Hayley Asai
CBT & EMDR Therapist
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist offering online psychological therapy for a variety of presentations, specialising in neurodiversity, long-term conditions (including cancer) and the perinatal period.
I have 10 years working across both the NHS and the private sector delivering evidenced-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions. I have also had training in therapeutic models such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
My aim for sessions is to offer a confidential and non-judgemental space, where collaboratively we can formulate your current experience and understand the cycles you may feel stuck in. CBT not only provides tools and techniques to manage your situation, but additionally to develop a sense of flexibility to think and respond differently. We can create goals that you aspire to work towards, building on a sense of confidence and self-esteem. Alongside this, I am passionate about helping you to develop a sense of compassion towards yourself, and strengthening identity, values, meaning and purpose.
In previous roles, I have specialised working in oncology and palliative care, additional to working with the perinatal period (anxiety, depression and loss) and neurodiversity (pre and post diagnosis).
Location and availability
I am able to offer both brief and longer-term therapy online over Zoom. I am flexible during the weekday and evenings to meet your availability.
